Movies on my “To See List”

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a must see now that it is out. Everyone that I know that has seen it says it was great. Unfortunately, I’d see this film regardless of the reviews since Transformers were a big part of my childhood growing up!

Blood: The Last Vampire, although it’s already released overseas (Japan), I hope that it will come to the states soon or even hit DVD (doubtful) :D Nothing beats a good action chick-flick kicking major booty!

I wasn’t a fan of the Harry Potter series, it took me a good year to watch the Sorcerer’s Stone and the chess scenes blew me away! Each new installment of the movie series is long awaited and I look forward to it. July 15th 2009 can’t come any closer since the time for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’s release date was changed :( But now it’s almost here and I can’t wait! I’ve read the books but now is time for the visuals! Surely its Hollywood form can’t take the original pages in perfect context but not every movie can be made into an epic Peter Jackson film either! ;)

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra has been on my list since I first saw this film say it was casting/in-production/rumored/etc! I watched G.I. Joe before going to school when I was 6 or so years old (perhaps during the time James Bond Jr. was on TV ;) Yes, it was a cartoon!). Besides that, Ray Park as Snake Eyes!!!!!! August 7th couldn’t come any sooner!

Hayao Miyazaki’s ‘Ponyo’ is a must see on the list. His visual storytelling and style is just beautiful. August 14th is the release date :)

Shane Acker’s ’9′ is definitely on my list. After seeing the animated short version of his film at Siggraph 2003 during the Computer Animation Festival, I thought it’d be cool to see it as a full length feature! Tim Burton is the producer…and I think him and Shane made a perfect match. Slated to come to theaters September 9, 2009!

I’ve been a fan of the series Avatar: The Last Airbender for quite some time. I own EVERY dvd box set. Ever since there was any noise about the possibility of a live action movie, of course I got excited. Sure, I’m a bit baffled by the casting choices seeing as how there are many great Asian actors and actresses available. Could you imagine, Chow-Yun Fat or even Jet Li as Uncle Iroh? Or even as Firelord Ozai! Now that I really think about it, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat) could play Uncle Iroh! Nicola Peltz as Katara just doesn’t seem right but we’ll have to see the movie to really judge her performance and believability. Perhaps Selena Gomez (some Disney Channel actress..Google-it) could have fit the part much better. Dante Basco could have fit the bill for his voiced character on the animated series as Prince Zuko. He was a high school kid in Take The Lead so why not a teen as Zuko??? I think he would have been THE best choice to play him and on top of that the fan base he already pulls in especially with the ladies and Filipino Americans :D Hopefully next summer we won’t be dissappointed. I hope this movie is as good or as great as all the Avatar fans want it to be and Oppa (Ang’s flying bison) better be in the movie!!!!!!

At the moment, this is it. There’s a lot more on my list but for now I’ll leave it at this :)
