Exporting videos in H.264, they looked washed out??

Have you exported a video and the colors looked washed out? Not as rich as the original edit? There is a fix…but I believe you need Quicktime Pro. It’s a long standing issue that has yet to be fixed. It’s kind of sad, especially since everyone uses the H.264 codec.

Anyways, here’s the fix that the majority of the video/vfx community says works (and it does). Some also say, you only need to skip to the Straight Alpha part, but I didn’t test it :D

Instructions:

Go To Window > Show Movie Properties
Select your Video Track > Visual Settings tab
In the bottom left drop down menu, Go To Blend > Slide Transparency level to 100%
In that same drop down menu, Go To Straight Alpha, then close.

Save and voila! Your washed out video miraculously looks shiny and new again ;)
