Okay, so I needed to change my site design again!
Posted By Christina on Oct 28, 2007
I thought the new design was good for me. After staring at it, I didn't like it so much and missed the old layout. So I've tweaked it to look the way I want yet again. I'm pretty content now I think. So no more changes til' the new year hopefully.
Here are more pictures from E for All. Yeah, I got Mad Mike's autograph from Pimp My Ride! I also got Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler from WWE as well as U1-Asami (2MB) who is one of the composers for Konami/Bemani's Dance Dance Revolution games.

Back from Los Angeles!
Posted By Christina on Oct 25, 2007
It was a long 4 day weekend at E for All Los Angeles. We made out with 31 t-shirts, 15 Wii keychains, 100's of Guitar Hero stickers, a Logitech G9 Laser Mouse from Gametrailers.com/XFire that I won, and tons of other autographs and schwag. Lots of fun. Glad it's over.

New site design!
Posted By Christina on Oct 25, 2007
Yes, it's a new site design! We'll see how long this one will last! Perhaps until the new year? We'll see. I also wanted to say that I enjoy reading the e-mails from those of you who are using my templates. Whether they are a stepping stone for you to learn from or a quick solution for your website, I really hope that they do help.
On other news, we will be attending the E for All Expo in Los Angeles. We'll be leaving SFO on Virgin America (oh yeah, I'm going to play with the gadgets and marvel at the light show!) and heading to LAX tomorrow. We will definitely be getting our Wii Fit fix until it is released in the U.S.A. and checking out all the latest games that are being offered to the masses. I will be taking pictures and hopefully taking some video while I'm there. We'll see!
Also just recently, I was accepted as a contributor to Shutterstock which is a large Micro Stock Photography site. There, I will be contributing photos as well as illustrations and video footage. How exciting!?!
Lastly, if you find any bugs/errors on my site, due shoot me an e-mail. I'd hate for my site to have any errors. Much appreciated.

Use your genius to win a t-shirt.
Posted By Christina on Apr 15, 2007
So last month, I get a catchy e-mail that says "Use your genius to win a t-shirt" so I say why the heck not! I love getting free stuff. Adobe was in full swing to market their latest release of Adobe Creative Suite 3. So I navigate to the pretty cool looking page at the Adobe Creative Mind Promo Site. I answer the brainteaser question which was "I help fuseproject change elements without changing perspective. What am I?" and the correct answer was "Vanishing Point" which I answered correctly says todays e-mail from Adobe.
So after all the moolah I've put into Adobe products, I now have a free t-shirt on its way!! Whoo-hoo! Oh, and Happy Friday the 13th!

Detroit 4, Columbus 1

Detroit is on the verge of adding more hardware to its trophy case before the playoff fun begins.
Tomas Holmstrom scored twice and the Red Wings beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-1 on Sunday to move into first overall in the league.
"A few more games and its the playoffs around the corner. I think everybody is getting excited," Holmstrom said. [MORE]

The ZBrush Journey
Posted By Christina on Mar 16, 2007

Here is my work in progress of an old mans head. I chose to model/sculpt an old mans head to learn the tools better. Plus an old mans head has character lines and characteristics a 20 something wouldn't have yet. This is my first ZBrush project. I think it's coming along great! Fingers crossed! More projects on the way. I hope to get comfortable to the point that I will benefit from the new features of ZBrush 3 :)

Search Engines, how do you rank??
Posted By Christina on Feb 24, 2007
Keyword "Christina"
Ranked By:
Not too bad considering my name is quite common and I contend with the likes of "Christina Aguilera," "Christina Milian," "Christina Applegate," and "Christina Ricci." I did a check on my rank on Google a few months ago and I was on the 12th page! So moving to page 3 is quite the accomplishment in my opinion.
At the moment, I fair quite well with my name "Christina Chun" as a keyword for my website on a lot of search engines. Pretty cool stuff huh?

Free eSeminar: Designing in Illustrator with Flash in Mind
Posted By Christina on Oct 31, 2006

"Working with Adobe's two most powerful vector applications doesn't need to be difficult, especially when using them together effectively. Illustrator expert Mordy Golding shows how to set up Illustrator with Flash in mind, how to work with groups, layers and styles, and explains 3D effects and artwork mapping. Golding also demonstrates how to work with type, how to create and use symbols, and provides insider hints and guidelines. Emphasis is on creating Illustrator files that will export most efficiently and smoothly to Flash using Live Paint, Live Trace, and Live Effects."
"Mordy Golding has been a production artist for print and the web for many years, and is an Adobe Certified Expert and Adobe Certified Print Specialist. At Adobe, he was the product manager for Illustrator 10 and Illustrator CS. A popular presenter at Macworld, Photoshop World and other worldwide events, Mordy is also the author of several books, including SAMS Teach Yourself Adobe Creative Suite All in One, The Web Designer's Guide to Color, and Real World Adobe Illustrator. So I play some online games when I need a break from the daily grind.
I'm a Club Pogo member and have a few free guest passes for 5 days. This allows you to play any games without the hassle of waiting for ads to clear and you get a chance to win any of the Jackpot prizes at double the amount. Not too bad. When your 5 day trial is over, it just goes to a free account. I've been a member since 2001. My husband and I just love Pogo.
So if you'd like a free guest pass, shoot me an E-mail with your e-mail and I'll send an invite. Like I said, I only have a few to share every so often. So HURRY!

What's Your True Talent?
Posted By Christina on Oct 14, 2006
What Are You Really Good At?
Christina, your true talent is spatial ability
Your ability to visualize objects in three-dimensional space gives you a unique view of the world. Because of this talent, you are much better than most people at imagining new designs including floor plans, page layouts, and three dimensional objects.
How do we know that's your true talent? While you were taking the test, we calculated your responses to each test question and rated your skills in 5 areas. You scored highest on spatial ability.
People like you are usually great when it comes to putting together assemble-it-yourself furniture or other household items whether the items arrive with instructions or not. Your spatial skills also help you understand the finer points of how things work.
And that's just a small part of what we know about you from your test results. You also have other hidden talents that can have a dramatic effect on your career, your life and how other people see you.

NEW to RSS Feeds?
Posted By Christina on Oct 2, 2006
Since I'm a new blogger, RSS feeds are somewhat of a mystery to me. Not in the sense that I don't know what they are, I've just never used the "technology" so to speak. I know about XML but not too well enough to write code. So let me share with you a simple and easy solution to syndicating your content.
RSSeditor - Create and manage your own RSS and podcasting feeds. The only downside is that it's for PC only but I'm sure there are many easier Mac solutions out there.
Oh and re-subscribe to my feed, I re-did it using this nifty piece of software today ;)

BMW Drive for the Cure
Posted By Christina on Sep 30, 2006
This past Wednesday, my husband and I headed to San Rafael to Sonnen BMW for the Drive for the Cure event being held at various locations across the United States.
This was our first event and I've always wanted to be apart of it. We arrived a little after 2pm and they had an X5 4.4 waiting for me! I took that BMW out and it was great. I've always wanted an X5 since its unveiling when BMW first introduced their SUV. It was roomy, spacious, and was very comfortable. This was the only vehicle I test drove since I didn't feel like driving in traffic for the rest of the test drives so my husband gladly took my spot to drive a 325CiC, a 750Li and a pretty slick Z4. We had a blast and will be doing this again here in our home city of San Francisco next Thursday October 5th.
I'll be taking better pictures next time. I forgot to take the digital camera but snapped some pictures with my Sidekick 3.

CamStudio UPDATE
Posted By Christina on Sep 30, 2006
So I did a trial run with CamStudio. It's pretty straight forward, barebones but it does the job. You just need to get use to its limitations in the state that it's in now. It does what it does though, it captures!
For the test, I created something simple in Photoshop to record. I captured at an odd size since I only wanted to capture the Photoshop area and not the rest of my desktop. The quality was pretty good though. For the sake of bandwidth I converted it to a Flash file using SWISHvideo and got the size down to 640x480. Since it was an odd size, SWISHvideo added the black letterbox. After the fact, I decided to just upload it to an off-site source.
You can view the video I made here.

CamStudio - Free Screen Recording Software
Posted By Christina on Sep 26, 2006
I may have hit the jackpot on this one! Well not really. But I think it's pretty cool when you can find screen recording software that is Open Source and FREE! Sure it may not be Adobe Captivate or Camtasia Studio but from what I've read and seen (their demo video) it's quite promising to say the least.
Here's a brief excerpt on CamStudio's history from the main website:
"CamStudio was originally released by a company called RenderSoft who were subsequently bought by a company called eHelp who used some of the technology in their program, RoboDemo ...
Some time later, eHelp was bought by Macromedia who wanted RoboDemo (which was to become Captivate) ..."
I will be testing this baby out this month in hopes to make a few on screen tutorials on how I create graphics or anything really.
So go check it out at www.camstudio.org

New website design, do you like?
Posted By Christina on September 22, 2006
So I had a hard time getting the ball rolling (for anything). So I decided to start a new and re-design my website.
School is now in week 2 and I've found that I've been a bit unmotivated and that my website didn't scream "Get Going", not to me at least. Must be a woman thing. So to help rejuvinate myself in the art of creativity I've put together this spiffy layout with some over the top icons.
It's my page and I'll have it lookin' however I want. Maybe next month there'll be a big pile of dog doo on my page, you never know. Enjoy!

I will also be attending Photoshop World Las Vegas September 6-8th for a day and a half of festivities. Too bad I couldn't stay for the full conference but beggers can't be choosers!

At least I'm comfortable with it for now til' I roll out a Flash version of my site (don't hold your breath on it though!). I probably won't be able to get to that til' literally next year.

We also met Jason Pohl of Orange County Choppers who uses Solidworks and a Boxx Workstation to hash out chopper designs. Autodesk announced they were releasing 3ds Max 8 soon! Pixologic Zbrush will be releasing an update to their version 2 with the ability to use the z-sphere technology as a way to implement bones right on the models. More went on but those were my highlights. Oh, and Dan won a PNY Quadro FX3400 workstation graphics card as well as a copy of 3ds Max 7!
